President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow received Hussein Al-Musallam, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, and Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, First Vice-President of the Association of National Olympic Committees, President of the Olympic Committee of the State of Qatar.
As noted, during the meeting, the guests highly appreciated the large-scale work being carried out in Turkmenistan to develop physical education and sports, and to train international-class athletes.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly welcomed the guests and expressed confidence that their visit would provide an opportunity to discuss important areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Olympic Council of Asia and the Olympic Committee of the State of Qatar.
During the conversation, the guests emphasized that Turkmenistan is an active participant in the Olympic movement.
As noted at the meeting, Turkmenistan pays special attention to cooperation with international sports organizations. Modernizing sports facilities, creating favorable conditions for athletes, and holding international competitions are important aspects of Turkmenistan's sports policy. It was noted that this meeting was an important step towards bringing sports cooperation to a new level and contributing to the development of the Olympic movement.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that the activities of the Olympic Council of Asia and the Association of National Olympic Committees contribute to the development of sports and the promotion of Olympic values around the world, and expressed confidence that the visit of the leaders of these organizations to Ashgabat will further expand cooperation in the sports sector, implement joint projects, and promote new initiatives.
