The first UN assessment mission for the Third Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC-3) has completed its work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The mission was led by UN Deputy Secretary-General Rabab Fatima, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
Following the mission's work, a briefing was held with the participation of heads and representatives of relevant ministries and departments, heads of specialized UN agencies and representatives of local media. The participants discussed preparatory measures for the international conference, which will be held in Turkmenistan in the second half of 2025.
Rabab Fatima emphasized the special significance of the upcoming event, noting that such conferences are held only once a decade. She focused on the need for careful coordination of actions in the run-up to LLDC-3.
During the briefing, an exchange of views also took place on the timely implementation of protocol and organizational measures, preparation of draft final documents, information support for the conference and technical equipment of the venues for the upcoming events.
