Turkmen and American universities held an online conference on urban development

    February.11.2025

The online conference on “Designing for Density: A Conversation on Additional Living Spaces” was held jointly by the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Kent State University (USA).

According to “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the meeting was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmen and American universities.

The conference participants discussed issues related to the efficient use of land in urban planning, proper housing planning, the impact of population on urban planning, as well as solving social, economic, and environmental problems in this area.

Patrick Hewitt and Rachel Novak, employees of the Chuyahoga County Planning Department, as well as Eric Zumft, Director of Planning and Development for the City of Cleveland Heights, and Tommy Chesnes, Senior Architect at Onyx Creative, shared their experience in the field of architecture, construction, and design. It was noted that various competitions are held for the purpose of developing urban development, and information about their winners and successfully implemented projects is actively published in the media. Thus, the public is given an excellent opportunity to make their proposals and conduct an economic analysis of the projects submitted to the competition, which significantly affects the effectiveness of the projects.
