In 2024, work continued in Turkmenistan to develop physical education, sports, the Olympic movement, and the training of master athletes. The international hockey tournament and the international tennis tournament “Ashgabat Open 2024” among boys and girls under 14 years of age were organized. Last year, Turkmen athletes managed to win 752 medals. As reported by TDH, this was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to regularly carry out programmatic events to develop sports in the country, expand the role of mass physical education, and promote Turkmenistan in high-level sports to the world.
