A delegation of the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited Ashgabat on January 21-22. The purpose of the visit is to implement the joint action plan of the customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran for 2025-2026. This was reported on the website of the customs service of Turkmenistan.
During the visit, a working meeting was held with representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, during which the results of cooperation for 2024 were discussed. Issues of interaction at the checkpoints of Khovdan-Bajgiran, Artyk-Lotfabad and Sarakhs-Sarahs were touched upon.
The parties also discussed the possibility of increasing cargo flows across customs borders, paying attention to the organization of effective customs control and the prevention of possible violations regarding goods.
The parties came to a decision to develop cooperation in the field of authorized economic transactions, exchange information on identified violations for the purpose of their further prevention, and conduct joint events to familiarize participants in foreign economic activity of both parties with customs rules.
