On September 5, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Vice President and Representative Director of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Mr. Amakawa Kazuhiko.
During the talks, the high level of Turkmen-Japanese relations, which are developing rapidly in all areas, was noted. It was noted that the open and trust-based political dialogue established at the highest level provides a powerful impetus for further strengthening interstate relations. Particular attention was paid to the issue of expanding the regulatory and legal framework for cooperation. In this regard, the parties noted the importance of the bilateral documents signed during the working visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow to Japan in April of this year.
The positive experience between Turkmenistan and JBIC was noted with satisfaction. The effectiveness of joint projects implemented on the basis of bilateral agreements and aimed at financing the construction of large facilities in the oil and gas, power engineering and chemical industries was emphasized.
Highly appreciating the open investment policy implemented under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, the Japanese side expressed its interest in intensifying relations and confirmed its readiness to participate in the implementation of major national projects.
