As part of his working visit to the People's Republic of China, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow met with Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
At the beginning of the meeting, the First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China warmly welcomed the distinguished Turkmen guest, thanked him for accepting the invitation and participating in the SCO summit. He also emphasized the significance of the meeting between the President of Turkmenistan and President Xi Jinping, noting that China attaches great importance to cooperation with Turkmenistan. It was noted that currently trade and economic relations, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and political dialogue are actively developing between the two countries.
The First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China said that he fondly remembered his visit to Turkmenistan in 2023 and took the opportunity to sincerely congratulate President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and all the Turkmen people on the remarkable 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
The President of Turkmenistan, expressing gratitude on behalf of the Turkmen delegation for the hospitality, congratulated the Chinese side on the success of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and expressed confidence that the agreements reached during it would contribute to developing regional cooperation and ensuring prosperity in the SCO space. The Head of State also took the opportunity to congratulate Dinh Xuexia and the friendly people of the People's Republic of China on the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
The energy sector is one of the key areas of Turkmen-Chinese cooperation. The Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, which has been successfully operating since 2009, is a vivid example of this. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highly appreciated the work of Chinese partners, in particular, the China National Petroleum Corporation, in Turkmenistan, and expressed gratitude for it.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, confirmed the readiness of the two countries to raise mutual cooperation to a higher level, and wished each other good health and further success in their state affairs.
