In the next issue of the international journal "Turkmenistan" under the general heading "The Theme of Numbers" an article by the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin entitled "Fundamentals of Strategic Partnership: The Policy of Neutrality is Firmly Entrenched in the System of Russian-Turkmen Relations" was published. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The article discusses the uniqueness of Turkmen neutrality and emphasizes the undoubted importance of its use in the Central Asian region, as well as in the global context, for the purpose of establishing peace.
The prominent Russian politician and statesman emphasized that Turkmenistan's views on equal and balanced interstate dialogue, based on strict adherence to the fundamental goals and principles of the UN Charter, are consistent with Russia's approaches to international affairs.
In the author's opinion, the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation are pushing for the development of relations between the two countries to become dynamic and trusting.
The article emphasizes that there are all the necessary conditions for the sustainable development of Turkmen-Russian relations in the field of multilateral political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian cooperation - "political will, economic expediency, common ground in foreign policy priorities, and most importantly, the desire of the peoples to maintain close, trusting relations."
Touching upon the topic of interparliamentary cooperation, the Russian senator emphasizes the invaluable contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, to strengthening this area of Turkmen-Russian relations.
The article also states that the enhanced strategic partnership meets the fundamental interests of the citizens of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. It is this important factor that, in many ways, contributes to strengthening peace, security, and stability in the Central Asian region.
