
Political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea were held today in Seoul.
The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov, and the Korean side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Korea Ms. Eui-Hae Cecilia Chang.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues in the context of the further development of political and diplomatic ties, expansion of interparliamentary cooperation and strengthening of the legal framework.
The parties discussed issues related to the development of trade and economic partnerships, including cooperation in energy, industrial construction, shipbuilding, water management, transport and infrastructure, and environmental protection.
The role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, as well as the Joint Turkmen-Korean Business Council, was noted.
Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including science, education, healthcare, culture, tourism, and sports.
Following the consultations, the parties' mutual interest in further partnership was confirmed, the source notes.
