Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Jassim Mohammed Al-Attar, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ashgabat. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The participants of the meeting emphasized that the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ashgabat in March of this year will give an additional impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation between the countries.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on a number of relevant regional issues.
