The Russian Embassy is actively preparing for the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkmenistan, which is scheduled for October within the framework of the CIS Heads of State Summit. Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin announced this at a gala reception for Russia Day, which took place on Thursday in the banquet hall of the “Yyldyz” hotel in Ashgabat.

"It's symbolic that the CIS is celebrating its 35th anniversary under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan, which is successfully fulfilling this important mission. Just recently, on May 22, Ashgabat hosted one of the Commonwealth's key events—a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council. The event was attended by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who was also received that day by the esteemed President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov," Volynkin said.

According to him, the CIS Heads of State Summit, which will take place in October in Turkmenistan with the participation of the Russian President, is just around the corner. "I won't hide the fact that the embassy is actively preparing for this important event," the diplomat noted.

He emphasized that regular bilateral dialogue in the spirit of a deepened strategic partnership meets the fundamental interests of Russia and Turkmenistan and is aimed at ensuring prosperity, stability, and security throughout Central Asia and the Caspian region.

"Russian-Turkmen relations have always been a benchmark for building relations between two sovereign states. Our countries maintain an intensive political dialogue and regularly exchange views on a wide range of international issues. At the same time, Moscow has always had great respect for Ashgabat's neutral status, which serves as a factor in ensuring global stability and geopolitical balance in the region," the ambassador added.

The next Commonwealth of Independent States summit will take place on October 9 in the “Awaza” National Tourist Zone.
