Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via videoconference with Deputy Prime Minister T. Atakhalliyev and regional governors. The meeting addressed issues related to the state of affairs in the country's agricultural sector and in the regions, TDH reported.
Regional governors reported on the progress of ongoing seasonal agricultural work. Preparations are currently underway for the organized start of the grain harvesting campaign and the wheat harvest. Inter-row cultivation, thinning, weeding, application of mineral fertilizers, and vegetation irrigation are underway in the cotton fields. Spring potato, vegetable, and melon crop care continues, as does the harvesting of the ripened crop. In the Dashoguz region, preparations are underway for the timely sowing of rice.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, after hearing the reports, emphasized the need for strict adherence to agricultural practices when cultivating cotton crops, as well as the importance of an organized start and timely completion of the grain harvesting campaign.
The head of state also instructed that high-quality construction work be ensured at facilities scheduled for commissioning this year, and that a high level of organization be ensured for the celebrations marking World Bicycle Day, celebrated on June 3.
