
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
"On this glorious holiday, citizens of Russia and Turkmenistan gratefully remind the unparalleled courage of their fathers and grandfathers who, fighting shoulder to shoulder, defended the freedom of their native land and, at the cost of countless sacrifices, saved the world from Nazism," the telegram reads.
The Russian leader expressed confidence that the memory of the heroic events of our shared history will contribute to the further development of Russian-Turkmen relations in the spirit of a deepened strategic partnership.
The Russian President also asked that his congratulations and wishes for health, prosperity, and longevity be conveyed to war veterans and home front workers living in Turkmenistan.
