Today, a ceremony entitled "Year of International Peace and Trust: Confident Steps of Neutral Turkmenistan" was held at the "Mekan" Palace in Ashgabat. It was attended by members of the Government, heads and representatives of the country's diplomatic service, international organizations, diplomatic missions, citizens working in various spheres and industries, and young people. At the venue of the ceremony, first, performances by cultural and artistic figures were presented. Then, the participants of the ceremony were introduced to a large-scale exhibition organized there.
After the Executive Secretary of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, R. Bazarov, declared the meeting open, speeches were given by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN A. Atayeva, Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States, Germany, Uzbekistan, and Iran to Turkmenistan, residents of the country, and students.
It was noted with great pride that the international significance of its neutrality and the results of the international forum held in honor of the remarkable 30th anniversary of this legal status of the country were of great importance, that Turkmenistan's long-term cooperation with authoritative international organizations and large companies of the world is increasingly prosperous, that the country's development and transformation are proceeding in adherence to the principles of peace and trust in the domestic and foreign policy pursued by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the President of Turkmenistan.
At the end of the ceremony, an Address to the President of Turkmenistan was adopted on behalf of the participants.
