As part of his working visit to the Russian Federation, the President of Turkmenistan visited the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the venue for the informal meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Here, the head of state was warmly welcomed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Before the summit, the heads of state participating in it visited the Hermitage Museum. The heads of state of the CIS member states were shown gold jewelry made by jewelers of ancient times. The museum also offers an opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the Great Silk Road. The Turkmen land, located at the center of this trade route, connected the East and the West.
After the museum tour, an informal meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held. The President of the Russian Federation V. Putin opened the high-level meeting and warmly welcomed its participants. During the summit, the results of the work carried out within the framework of the Commonwealth this year were reviewed. Priority areas of cooperation and tasks for the future were identified. Positive indicators of economic cooperation were noted with satisfaction. They also exchanged views on important issues of the regional and global agenda. Vladimir Putin also congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his presidency of the CIS in 2026 and wished him success.
As reported by the "Vatan" news program, after completing the working visit to the Russian Federation, the President of Turkmenistan arrived at Pulkovo International Airport in St. Petersburg and departed for Turkmenistan.
