Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Malaysia's Ambassador to Ashgabat, Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
During the talks, the parties noted the progressive development of bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Particular attention was paid to the energy dimension of the partnership: this year marks 30 years since the beginning of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas, which has accumulated significant experience in the country.
The parties also confirmed the high level of cooperation in education. Hundreds of Turkmen students are studying at Malaysian universities. Under an agreement with Petronas Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, cooperation is underway with the Petronas University of Technology; Turkmen specialists participate in trainings and seminars under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program.
