National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
Jabbarov expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet and the hospitality extended, noting that Azerbaijan highly values the level of development of interstate relations, and conveyed greetings and best wishes from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
As noted at the meeting, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening friendly, fraternal, and good-neighborly ties with Azerbaijan. The parties noted the common historical and cultural traditions, mutual respect, and close spiritual values of the two peoples.
Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan successfully cooperate both bilaterally and multilaterally, including within the UN. According to the meeting participants, regular dialogue at the high level creates favorable conditions for effective cooperation.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the significance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's recent state visit to Azerbaijan and once again expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the vessel "Dostluk", which was donated to the Turkmen people.
The interlocutors also emphasized the important place of cultural and humanitarian dialogue on the bilateral agenda.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced that preparations are underway for the international event "Ene-tebigat" ("Mother Nature"), which will be held in Turkmenistan from October 19 to November 30 of this year.
