Turkmenistan is participating in the 88th session of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee in Geneva.

On February 17, the 88th session of the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe opened in Geneva. A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister B. Annayev, is participating in the forum.

The session is being held under the motto "Promoting Innovation for the Future of Domestic Transport." Discussions will focus on digitalization, automation, and the development of international transport infrastructure.

During a high-level ministerial discussion, the head of the Turkmen delegation identified the digital transformation of the transport sector as a strategic priority for the country. Specifically, discussions focused on modernizing the regulatory framework for electronic document management, developing the North-South and West-East transport corridors, and collaborating with the UNECE on multimodal transport.

The Decade of Sustainable Transport for 2026–2035, proclaimed at the initiative of Turkmenistan, was separately mentioned.

The session is attended by heads of transport agencies, representatives of international organizations, and business circles. The event will conclude on February 20, 2026.
